Hello All
Maxim Alzoba
01:08:05
is it possible to remove video Tab at all? (nobody uses it)
Naeem Uddin
01:08:18
Hello all
Jeff Neuman
01:11:09
I think eventually we should use the video :)
Maxim Alzoba
01:12:18
there is a coffee icon in zoom :)
Naeem Uddin
01:12:47
How to switch between screens?
Jamie Baxter | dotgay
01:12:53
Should it also be highlighted before we get started that privacy in direct chat should not be assumed as ICANN staff has access to all private chats?
Steve Chan
01:13:55
@Jamie, I think that got a little bit in translation. I can address that…rest assured, we do not see the private chat between members. The only private chat we see is what is directed at us.
Maxim Alzoba
01:14:13
it is possible to push pop-out on every window and to move over the screen
avri doria
01:14:24
and you can change the size of the block
Maxim Alzoba
01:14:46
@Cristopher, the audio is way better than usual
Kathy Kleiman
01:15:30
Should I be on Steve's screen or Julie's screen?
Steve Chan
01:15:46
@Jamie, and others, let us know if you have additional questions.
Steve Chan
01:16:02
@Kathy, Julie’s for the moment
Jamie Baxter | dotgay
01:16:03
@Steve .. since it was stated as I joined the call that direct chats would be deleted by staff before the final transcript is sent out I do think it would be prudent to assure everyone on this call of the situation.
Steve Chan
01:16:46
@Jamie, sure. Jeff, hand raised.
Maxim Alzoba
01:20:22
it is possible to check ‘turn my video off when joining the meeting’
Anne Aikman-Scalese (IPC)
01:21:47
THank you Christopher for the "heads-up" in relation to those two issues. Is public comment open on those two issues?
Julie Bisland
01:23:11
@all: to turn OFF video: hover at the bottom of your screen, click the arrow next to video, video settings, then TURN OFF MY VIDEO WHEN JOINING
Jamie Baxter | dotgay
01:23:21
@Steve, thanks for clarifying
Julie Bisland
01:23:30
Thank you Steve, well said
Julie Bisland
01:24:23
@All: who called from ph# 703-533-9530?
Steve Chan
01:25:29

01:26:39
Not me :)
Janvier Ngnoulaye (ISOC Cameroon)
01:29:14
@Steve: thanks for the google link
Maxim Alzoba
01:31:39
Be aware that the Terms of Use can be changed at any moment, last time it happened to have quite huge changes , preventing some of the users from use of the portal
Maxim Alzoba
01:31:51
due to legal concerns
Maxim Alzoba
01:31:58
of the Portal
Maxim Alzoba
01:33:07
but we can use bits of text, if we find that it fits the cause
Maxim Alzoba
01:34:14
for 2.4.3.c.6 - the AGB itself can be changed (it happened last time )
Maxim Alzoba
01:36:31
I do not hear Jeff
Jim Prendergast
01:36:45
Jeff come back
Rubens Kuhl
01:36:47
I do not hear Jeff as well.
Rubens Kuhl
01:38:56
Old topic.
Maxim Alzoba
01:38:58
I object, it is not factually based idea
Jim Prendergast
01:39:54
id like to respond to CW if possible
Maxim Alzoba
01:42:41
to avoid situations of ‘you do agree to pay twice more if you still wish to use the system’
Justine Chew
01:43:36
@Maxim, can you elaborate on your last remark about paying twice please?
Maxim Alzoba
01:44:12
at least TLD should be allowed as IDN (ICANN required applicants to be IDN ready, while having nonIDN ready system)
Maxim Alzoba
01:45:20
@Justine it was hypothetical example of bad changes made in the process (after application payments were received)
Justine Chew
01:45:45
@Maxim, I see. Thanks.
Steve Chan
01:46:20
Hand from DOnna
Justine Chew
01:47:23
@Donna, we did indeed, last week.
Maxim Alzoba
01:47:25
merge and split functions should come together (of applications under one login), there is a possibility that an applicant decides to switch a consultant
Steve Chan
01:47:56
Loud and clear Jeff...
Donna Austin, Neustar
01:49:22
Thanks Jeff
Maxim Alzoba
01:50:04
my comment was for 2.4.3.c.9 (about merge and split of applications under one login , two logins)
Janvier Ngnoulaye (ISOC Cameroon)
01:51:08
+1 @Maxim, good idea to merge
Justine Chew
01:51:45
I wonder if in this section we should use the term "User" instead of "applicant" to avoid confusion as to which system we're talking about? "User" being an already contracted party versus "applicant" being an actual applicant for a new string.
Maxim Alzoba
01:54:17
@Justine, there is a possibility that the current Portal might be used for Registries and Registrars and Applicants
Maxim Alzoba
01:54:25
when updated
Anne Aikman-Scalese (IPC)
01:54:35
Neustar comment related to "overly long testing and development windows" that might cause "undue delay"
Donna Austin, Neustar
01:55:17
Thanks Anne
Anne Aikman-Scalese (IPC)
01:55:41
BRG says "this should be treated as low priority and not cause any delay"
Janvier Ngnoulaye (ISOC Cameroon)
01:56:46
@Justine: May be if both terms "user and applicant" are maintained, each of them must be accompanied by it definition to avoid confusion
Rubens Kuhl
01:57:52
It's almost a given that ICANN will leverage the existing Naming Services Portal for applicants. So comparing what we believe works in NSP for applications and what would need to be different. But only currently contracted parties have access to NSP to basis comments on.
Maxim Alzoba
01:58:24
it depends on who gained the control
Steve Chan
01:59:57
There is a drop down next to “To:” in the chat window - Select Everyone from the dropdown options.
Christa Taylor
02:00:34
It was also for internal processng purposes; i.e. one person does a change and someone else can see the changes
Rubens Kuhl
02:00:46
And Zoom uses the local language for "Everyone", so it shows "Todos" for me and other Portuguese-speaking user.
Christa Taylor
02:01:09
#someone else can see the changes from an internal perspective
Anne Aikman-Scalese (IPC)
02:01:42
Regarding 2.4.3.c.14, I note that in addition to Question 18 related to Mission and Purpose not being appropriate for "autofill" , there is an issue about "autofill" in relation to Question 23 related to "services to be rendered" in the new TLD. As discussed in Work Track 4, the point is not to be able to get multiple applications through as quickly as possible and then to add services later after public comment is over.
Maxim Alzoba
02:02:16
without copy and pasting there is a need of having a genius typists (we will type in texts)
Maxim Alzoba
02:02:30
*who will
Justine Chew
02:03:52
RE: 2.4.3.c.13, I presume there is a "disclaimer" somewhere to allow appropriate action by ICANN if an uploaded file ends up being a 'dangerous' file eg infected file
Kathy Kleiman
02:04:48
Agree with Anne's comment above re: autofill.
Jeff Neuman
02:05:02
Sorry anne...you are next
Kathy Kleiman
02:05:42
And question whether the systems question would overwrite or replace concerns raised in other sections?
Maxim Alzoba
02:06:33
it might be called cloning of the application texts (for some questions)
Kathy Kleiman
02:07:28
+1 Anne
Maxim Alzoba
02:08:19
Auto fill will be required when TLDs share the same software platform (why should we forbid that?)
Maxim Alzoba
02:09:41
for tech questions
Kathy Kleiman
02:11:32
Can I raise my hand?
Anne Aikman-Scalese (IPC)
02:11:32
Address and contact information are not at issue. System should not have this functionality in relation to Mission, Purpose, and Services to be rendered. The most relevant questions are Question 18 and Question 23.
christopher wilkinson
02:11:33
Well, there has been no thorough discussion in the PDP of the implications of AGB2 for IDNs. There has been no discussion about the same applicant applying for the same ‘string’ in several scripts. This is a non-trivial issue. In .EU case we have lived through serious delays about the simplest implementation: EU in Cyrillic and Greek.
Kathy Kleiman
02:11:34
virtually
Steve Chan
02:12:25
Quick hand for me Jeff
Anne Aikman-Scalese (IPC)
02:12:32
The Systems section is in fact relevant. If agreed, it should provide, "but no autofill as it relates to mission, purpose, and services to be rendered."
Maxim Alzoba
02:14:36
actually last time it was an incentive for IDNs, so forbidding TLDs to be presented in more than one local language does not seem to be well thought
Anne Aikman-Scalese (IPC)
02:14:47
I would support that approach.
Justine Chew
02:15:02
I support that approach as well
Phil Buckingham
02:15:12
Me too.
Janvier Ngnoulaye (ISOC Cameroon)
02:15:27
Me too.
Anne Aikman-Scalese (IPC)
02:16:16
Parking Lot issues should specifically refer to Question 18 and 23, but not exclude any other question referencing mission, purpose, or proposed services.
Kathy Kleiman
02:16:18
Thanks for extensive clarity on this!!
Kathy Kleiman
02:16:32
In all spots -- here, original point, and parking lot.
Maxim Alzoba
02:16:54
actually WHOIS had to be almost the same (for services)
Maxim Alzoba
02:17:31
and that was the part of the application
Phil Buckingham
02:18:29
I would think that any question that has a point score attached to it should not be allowed to be autofilled However mission Q18 was not point scored last time
Anne Aikman-Scalese (IPC)
02:19:15
Thanks Jeff - yes this systems issue would also implicate the exception relativre to mission, purpose, and proposed services. Parking lot issue as to 2.4.3.c.15 in addition to 2.4.3.c.14.
Anne Aikman-Scalese (IPC)
02:19:40
Agree with Maxim but as to mandatory services, the new application should probably have a "check the box" system.
Maxim Alzoba
02:20:16
we have to mention that critical services are required and also might be the same - like non-searchanble whois
Maxim Alzoba
02:20:27
non-searchable
Maxim Alzoba
02:21:42
last time it was LA only time for support on important questions
Anne Aikman-Scalese (IPC)
02:22:41
RE 2.4.3.c.15,please note that the BC public comment says "Each appplication should be treated independently."
Justine Chew
02:23:58
@Anne, begs the question does "treated" mean "processed" or "solicited"?
Maxim Alzoba
02:24:31
the latter might not work if there are two TLDs , where domains are coupled via some rule (like LGR) for same words in different languages
Maxim Alzoba
02:25:01
those will have to be seen together
Justine Chew
02:25:25
@Maxim, agreed.
Kathy Kleiman
02:27:08
Suggesting for parking lot:
Kathy Kleiman
02:27:10
As agreed in WG 4-22-19: agreed provided it is a) technically possible to *not have autofill* in some of the fields, and b) autofill may not, without further agreement of SubProWG and Community, be used at all for fields, questions and answers of the application involving mission, purpose, and proposed services.
Kathy Kleiman
02:27:47
tx!
Kathy Kleiman
02:28:03
Feel better Jeff!
Julie Bisland
02:28:22
Next Subpro WG call: Tuesday, 30 April 2019 at 03:00 UTC for 90 minutes.
Maxim Alzoba
02:28:32
I am not sure we have to forbid copy paste for the questions, which are going to have the same answers (critical functions)
Julie Bisland
02:28:46
(MOnday night)
Justine Chew
02:28:56
Thanks, all.
Cheryl Langdon-Orr ()
02:28:56
bye for now...
Donna Austin, Neustar
02:28:57
thanks all
Rubens Kuhl
02:28:57
Bye all!
Anne Aikman-Scalese (IPC)
02:28:58
@Maxim- copy and paste is not prohibited. This issue related to "autofill"
Annebeth Lange
02:29:00
Thanks and goodbye
Maxim Alzoba
02:29:01
bye all
