Welcome to the meeting of the RA/RAA Amendment Discussion Group. Please announce your name before speaking for purposes of the transcript. Please mute your microphone when not speaking to help maintain sound quality. Thanks
Maxim Alzoba
35:37
hello all, will not be able to use mic (it is midnight time)
Maxim Alzoba
36:18
also we need to prevent them from doing that each 5000ms , so they do not ddos us
Maxim Alzoba
36:40
I mean almost full database download kind of search
Rick Wilhelm (Verisign)
36:44
correct… only lookup… it’s not really a search
Jody Kolker (GoDaddy)
37:15
thanks Rick, I knew I was not using the right term.
James Galvin (Afilias)
37:24
i think we’re fine unless there is searching
Maxim Alzoba
37:52
single item lookup - Should it be
James Galvin (Afilias)
37:55
we are careful to say “exact match lookup”.
Jeff Neuman
38:01
cool
Maxim Alzoba
39:02
we need to add bootstrap availability somewhere
Maxim Alzoba
39:32
so ICANN always provide that or SLA can not be measured
James Galvin (Afilias)
40:31
+1 to policy questions
Maxim Alzoba
40:45
until policy is voted for, it is not actual one
Maxim Alzoba
40:57
by council and board
Sam Demetriou
41:13
The data a RR or RY would be returning would only be the public data, where personal data is redacted
Maxim Alzoba
41:15
no reason to follow not yet actual policy
Jeff Neuman
44:36
Sorry Donna / Graeme - I did not mean to take control of the meeting....
Jeff Neuman
44:46
I am so used to SubPro calls :)
J.C. Vignes (Uniregistry)
44:57
Doing a great job @jeff :)
Rick Wilhelm (Verisign)
46:06
good point Jim… I recall that you’ve made that comment before, but good to bring up again.
Maxim Alzoba
47:18
we should not forget lack of SLAs from ICANN, so, for example if there is no bootstrap available - we should not be blamed for poor RDAP responses caused by that
Maxim Alzoba
49:19
formally, we can not vote for an amendment without it's text... so we always need the redlines
Rob
52:32
yes
Rob Hall
52:37
its rob hall.
Rob Hall
52:47
damn … I saw it as last in the agenda. sorry I was late.
Maxim Alzoba
55:52
we saw results of not doing so, in contacts of RO - look at who is of registrar, at who is of that registrar - words 'look at who is of registrar :)
Maxim Alzoba
59:51
ICANN is responsible for implementation
Maxim Alzoba
01:03:37
may I speak?
Donna Austin, Neustar
01:05:55
I tend to agree with Maxim.
Maxim Alzoba
01:06:16
then we need to be extra careful to remove leftovers of that from actual redlines
Maxim Alzoba
01:07:14
+1 for separation of this bit and clear labeling as intro
Maxim Alzoba
01:07:37
successful transition = who is no more
Rick Wilhelm (Verisign)
01:08:12
yes… the sentence about the transition plan should be in a section about the Transition Plan
J.C. Vignes (Uniregistry)
01:08:26
Agree Jeff, let »s have as little fluff as possible, even for the intro
J.C. Vignes (Uniregistry)
01:08:38
+1 Donna
J.C. Vignes (Uniregistry)
01:09:37
« may » gives us the option not to do it, so I would use it instead of « will »
Maxim Alzoba
01:10:48
if there is a place for discussion s - then it is too early for amending
Maxim Alzoba
01:12:56
successful transition = no words 'WHOIS' in policies or contracts
Maxim Alzoba
01:13:13
everything else - done on full auto on SLAs
Maxim Alzoba
01:14:06
and!!! All who is RFCs should be made 'obsolete'
Maxim Alzoba
01:16:53
header should be draft - confidential, restricted to ICANN God and cph
Owen Smigelski (Namecheap)
01:16:59
There was no outreach to the public about changes in the 2013 RAA or base RA, except for an ICANN webinar or two. There were indeed Rr/Ry outreach, but outreach for all of the massive changes in those 2 docs were *not* part of the negotiation process.
Donna Austin, Neustar
01:18:59
I don't think it was tentative
Rick Wilhelm (Verisign)
01:19:25
agreed… I didn’t get “tentative” out of it either
Maxim Alzoba
01:19:59
through suffering
Maxim Alzoba
01:20:53
simple methods have tendencies to be used more often
Maxim Alzoba
01:21:16
do we want it to be changed at every whim of ICANN tech guys?
Maxim Alzoba
01:23:52
IDNs transliteration to be the next shiny thing for RDAP
Rick Wilhelm (Verisign)
01:24:49
In RDAP format and order are not relevant… they are client-side responsibility
Jeff Neuman
01:27:54
do we have 60 mins or 90?
Zoe Bonython
01:28:13
60 mins
Donna Austin, Neustar
01:28:14
Only 60
Maxim Alzoba
01:28:23
good night
Donna Austin, Neustar
01:28:30
night Maxim
James Galvin (Afilias)
01:28:37
i have tried to keep up with proposed edits and made sure to put the edits in both.
Maxim Alzoba
01:28:46
bye all
Donna Austin, Neustar
01:29:13
Much appreciated Jim
Donna Austin, Neustar
01:31:47
we really do have to get out of this room, we have CSG folks joining another call very soon.
Catherine Merdinger
01:32:38
Thanks all!
