Reg
27:11
oh, my bad, I was looking at the questions in the memo, disregard
Matthew Crossman (Amazon Ry)
27:58
sounds great
Luc Seufer
28:15
Be nice with Graeme’s spouse
Luc Seufer
30:34
We choose the means, ICANN is only giving us guidance
Beth Bacon
34:13
whaaat
Beth Bacon
34:19
;)
Reg
34:24
I agree!! If Verisign doesn’t want us to collect data or send it to them, they shouldn’t have to—the only reason they do is because ICANN requires it
Luc Seufer
34:24
The whole memo is based on the fashion ID case and they are pushing very strong on the distinction between purpose and means
Luc Seufer
34:48
@Reg yes ICANN forces us but we choose how to do it
Reg
35:48
and, for example, .law, requires collection of name, address, bar number, and jurisdiction—and submission of that data to the registry. That’s fine!! but they don’t need email or phone, for example. Each registry has its own requirements that are unique and then ICANN, again, stands above all of them and requires collection by the registrar and submission to the registry
Matthew Crossman (Amazon Ry)
35:53
I think that also highlights why these need to be bilateral agreements between A party and ICANN
Matthew Crossman (Amazon Ry)
35:59
business models and relationships may differ
Sam Demetriou
36:07
@Matt, exactly
Reg
36:32
I also disagree with Luc’s assertion that “we choose how to do it” since the EPDP is currently discussing how we’re going to “choose” to do it and then ICANN will require us to choose that means
Reg
36:41
+1 Matt
Luc Seufer
37:28
Just playing devil advocate, I am just telling you what I think the memo is showing
Reg
38:34
oh, I agree, which is why I said that I think their questions in the memo are wrong questions because the questions avoid the real state of things
Matthew Crossman (Amazon Ry)
39:13
Sounds good
Luc Seufer
40:07
yes
Matthew Crossman (Amazon Ry)
41:39
and then managing those agreements going forward
Luc Seufer
42:17
Or needing different agreements. Looking at you Indian CPs
Luc Seufer
45:07
If a thick registry doesn’t want to delete personal data, registra can’t do squat about it.
Luc Seufer
45:24
They “control” the data hence...
Matthew Crossman (Amazon Ry)
46:50
Agree Kevin
Luc Seufer
49:05
Should we preface our response by “the following should not be considered legal advice…”
Luc Seufer
54:38
Yeah!
Luc Seufer
58:53
I agree, not sure Org will tho
Beth Bacon
59:32
Whoa lug watch your “Orgs” there
Beth Bacon
59:35

Luc Seufer
01:00:39
