GAC Communique Drafting Sessions 1, 2, & 3 of 6 - Shared screen with speaker view - Recording 1/3
Gulten Tepe - ICANN Org
01:27:21
Hello, my name is Gulten Tepe Oksuzoglu and I will be monitoring this chat room. In this role, I am the voice for the remote GAC participants.GAC Members who wish to submit a question or comment that you want to be read aloud on the mic, please type your question or comment in English and start with a <QUESTION> and end with a “</QUESTION>” or <COMMENT> </COMMENT>. Text outside these quotes will be considered as part of “chat” and will not be read out loud.Time permitting, we'd like to get to all comments and questions, but we will give priority to comments and questions from GAC members.Be assured that if we don't have time for reading all, the chat transcript is preserved in the meeting records. This session includes “live” interpretation in the 6 UN languages, plus Portuguese. All chat sessions are being archived and follow the ICANN Expected Standards ofBehavior: https://meetings.icann.org/en/expected-standards-behavior.

there have been attempts to develop a definition, but no agreement emerged

Great question, the best reference on the creation, closure, working methods, etc. of GAC working groups are the recently finalized "GAC Working Group Guidelines".
Nico Caballero - GAC Paraguay

Thank you, Luisa

Thank you, Tracy and Nigel, all good points that we can include in this Subpro section, in particular the importance of outreach.

Luisa, thanks; you and Jorge are experts here; but good to have something on next steps

@Nigel: I‘m fine with some outlook… at the same time there is still a long way (ODP, Board consideration, IRT, GNSO Guidance Process…)

support removal of square bracket text - not sure all of the GAC seen the proposal?
Gemma Carolillo_EC
02:11:46
If it can help - the square bracket text is not referring to proposal inside the GAC but it refers to the content of some replies to the public consultation
Gemma Carolillo_EC
02:12:08
these were the replies from IT, EC and I think some other organisations.
Susan Chalmers
02:14:04
I don't think that is accurate, Gemma. Manal had just clarified that the "proposal" was conveyed to the GAC on a verbal basis during this meaning.
Susan Chalmers
02:14:17
Apologies - "meeting".
Gemma Carolillo_EC
02:14:53
I am reading the text :) and it refers to the input to the public consultation
Gemma Carolillo_EC
02:15:02
that was then further conveyed in the meeting

Thank you, Jorge and Susan, looks good the text.

I think we are taking away the link with the context, that there was a public consultation, that some GAC members replied to it

Good suggestion, Susan, to have more flexibility.
