Very good question Margarita. That’s something we should take up for the next ccTLD News session.

IDN works for e-mail. For support of internationalized e-mail address your SMTP server have to support extension SMTPUTF8

Margarita, Coordination Center for .ru/.рф puts a lot of effort to make it actually work. Some of such developments were shared at ccNSO News, but we will be happy to to continue the discussion

Currently, gmail can support the IDN.
