This is noted, thank you Melina.

With all due respect - this is a policy discussion that would be better in the plenary
Volker Greimann
53:16
Absolutely, but Had started it ;-)

@Volker what you said makes sense
hadia elminiawi(ALAC)
01:02:41
our guidance needs to be adjusted to reflect the new and old legal guidance received
Terri Agnew
01:03:59
Melina will join last 30 minutes of this meeting.
Thomas Rickert (ISPCP)
01:04:41
I think we need to clarify to the plenary how this would work. Obtaining consent directly from the data subject. I guess what they mean is information to the data subjects concerned according to Art. 14 . Do I get this right?
Terri Agnew
01:04:53
Scheduled for 90 minutes
hadia elminiawi(ALAC)
01:06:50
+1 Jan a straightforward answer is preferable

01:07:38
Just a reminder that the complexity of getting positive consent from individuals, in a corporate setting, is dealing with staff changes in some of the contacts.
Laureen Kapin
01:07:52
We should proceed with plenary discussion and supplement when we receive more guidance in response to MS's question.
stephanieeperrin
01:08:39
This is where a lot of organizations fall down in my experience…..large orgs often don’t even sucessfully revoke security admin privileges, let alone consents for info disclosure.
hadia elminiawi(ALAC)
01:09:13
@Terri we should not wait we already have a lot to work on
Margie Milam
01:10:11
+1 Hadia - I support asking Melina’s question
Terri Agnew
01:10:15
Melina has rejoined
hadia elminiawi(ALAC)
01:17:14
The reply would provide assurance
hadia elminiawi(ALAC)
01:18:06
I meant the reply to Melina’s question is important because it provides assurance
Melina Stroungi (GAC)
01:18:57
when developing best practices and guidance it is good to know which the safest options are
Melina Stroungi (GAC)
01:19:14
Volker's reply actually confirms that it would be useful to submit my question :)
Berry Cobb
01:20:15
I'd like to remind the group from a PM perspective, this is less about time or duplication of the questions, but one of budget. As I noted at the beginning of the LC, we don't have a specific budget, but we do not have a blank check either as this is being absorbed by core policy budget. I'd urge the group to consider the additional value add here where and or if the point already seems to be addressed elsewhere in prior advice.

01:20:43
Becky my hand is up
stephanieeperrin
01:20:47
I think Volker has summarized this situation well. These opinions do not add much to our understanding of the situation. What we need is solid evidence that the BENEFITS of making this data available, regardless of whether the risks are small or large, outweigh any risk.
Becky Burr
01:21:10
Thanks Hadia, not seeing it on my screen but will go to you next
stephanieeperrin
01:21:23
There is no question in my mind that the costs of administering this will be substantial.
stephanieeperrin
01:22:26
I would of course welcome evidence to the contrary, but anyone who tells me systems can be trained to manage this verification process cheaply and easily can probably hear me laughing whilst remaining on mute
Melina Stroungi (GAC)
01:22:55
+1 Hadia
