.SU is not a member of ccNSO
Maxim Alzoba
01:19:36
so the policies are not relevant there
Maxim Alzoba
01:20:34
and it was inherited by the Russian Federation
Paul McGrady
01:20:39
Joke, thank you for the explanation. Very helpful!
Goran Marby
01:20:58
Correction, it is not PTI who makes the decision. The proposal is made by IANA. Final decision ICANN board

btw. .SU is regarded to be a national infrastructure by the law, so it is not just a technical or policy issue

@Jeffrey, perhaps too late for ICANN70. But anyone presenting at ICANN71 should definitely do so
Bart Boswinkel
01:34:28
In addition to Joke’s comment, the ccNSO policy on retirement starts after a two-letter country code is no longer included in ISO3166-1. Removal of the country code will trigger the proposed retirement process. Inclusion of country code in list of country codes makes it eligible for delegation.

SAC114 contains many items outside of the SSAC remit
Jeffrey Neuman
01:53:07
<Question> Does SSAC114 have agreement from each member of the SSAC? </Question>
Goran Marby
01:53:45
Jeff, that is question you should ask them I think.
Goran Marby
01:54:52
But to my understanding it went through the necessary internal processes to able to sign off the document.
Jeffrey Neuman
01:55:19
@Goran - I will. I would also like to see back-up for the recommendations that they have made to the Board because the Advice made a bunch of conclusions without providing citations to evidence supporting those conclusions.
Martin Sutton, BRG
01:55:48
Good question Jeff - I thought the SAC114 was pre-released and not yet “Final”, which I assume could be partly to do with SSAC endorsement
Steve Sheng
01:55:53
@Jeff, thanks for the question. Section 5.1 of the SSAC report lists the SSAC members contribute the report.
Goran Marby
01:56:04
That is also a question you should ask them
Jeffrey Neuman
01:56:08
@Steve - that was not my question
Jeffrey Neuman
01:56:23
Being a contributor and supporting the conclusions are very different
Steve Sheng
01:56:24
@Jeff, barring dissents or withdrawals, the report represents the consent of the SSAC.
David Olive
01:56:45
Thanks Jeff and Steve.
Jeffrey Neuman
01:56:52
@Steve - Again, the question is whether the members of the SSAC "agree" with the conclusions.
Nigel Hickson (UK-GAC)
01:56:59
Andrew - Thanks look forward to hearing more on SAC 114 at ICANN70.
Jeffrey Neuman
01:57:11
My understanding from speaking with a few of the members is that they do not support all of the conclusions
Jeffrey Neuman
01:57:27
but were dissuaded from filing formal dissents
Steve Sheng
01:57:48
@Jeff, I think this question is best directed to the SSAC leadership. Would you like me to forward these concerns to SSAC?
Maarten Botterman
01:57:58
Thanks for a solid overview David and team!
Bill Jouris
01:58:02
Filing a formal dissent is not a trivial effort.
Jeffrey Neuman
01:58:17
@Steve - sure. But I am drafting a much more comprehensive letter addressing the flaws.
Cheryl Langdon-Orr
01:58:20
