Sarah Wyld (RrSG)
29:02
I really like the new questions for input that are added to the report draft, I think they'll be helpful
Terri Agnew
31:16
Please review ICANN Expected Standards of Behavior here: https://www.icann.org/resources/pages/expected-standards-2016-06-28-en**Reminder, when using chat, please select all panelists and attendees in order for chat to be captured after the meeting.
Hadia Elminiawi (At-large)
34:07
Are we going to discuss the redlined parts later?
Alan Greenberg (ALAC)
35:22
sorry TO BE LATE.
Brian King (IPC)
37:15
+1 Steve
Steve DelBianco (BC)
37:40
So Steve, are you saying we really only need the 3rd point under Input #3?
Brian King (IPC)
38:32
Steve, if Steve were saying that, I would agree.
Sarah Wyld (RrSG)
38:35
I do not recall agreement on having a standardized data element
Brian King (IPC)
38:39
(let's just ask Q3)
Brian King (IPC)
39:58
Can we really not agree that a field, which is optional to use, must be used in a standard way across CPs?
Hadia Elminiawi (At-large)
42:50
@sarah - the differentiation is optional - whether to use it or not could be optional - BUT the availability of the standardized is beneficial
Hadia Elminiawi (At-large)
43:40
*a standardized data element is beneficial
Laureen Kapin (GAC)
45:35
+1 Alan G.
Steve Crocker (SSAC)
49:20
I disagree with Beth Bacon re the existence of the field in the data dictionary imposes a requirement on registries. Registrars can have all sorts of fields that registries need not receive or pay attention to.
Alan Woods (RySG)
50:49
I'm sorry. Are we arguing about the fact that we agreed or not? I think we can categorically say that we are experts in expressing whether or not we agreed?
Berry Cobb
59:07
hand
Hadia Elminiawi (At-large)
59:54
keep Question 3.3 - in all cases the community are going to comment on everything
Berry Cobb
01:00:25
Yes Keith. I forgot that part. Was identified as cant live with. Thanks.
Hadia Elminiawi (At-large)
01:00:47
@kieth yes question 1
Laureen Kapin (GAC)
01:02:22
Please show text being read.
Brian King (IPC)
01:04:03
It appears duplicative of Q1
Laureen Kapin (GAC)
01:04:10
Agree with Keith about phrasing of "how useful" question.
Mark Svancarek (BC)
01:04:33
Agree, seems duplicative
Steve DelBianco (BC)
01:05:52
Could we reframe #4.3 to this? "Are there legal and regulatory considerations that should inform Rys and Rrs in differentiating?"
Mark Svancarek (BC)
01:06:25
@Steve, I think that line belongs at the end of 4.1
Hadia Elminiawi (At-large)
01:06:46
+1 Laureen
Sarah Wyld (RrSG)
01:07:48
I do think the question as Matthew describes it would be useful to ask!
Brian King (IPC)
01:11:55
Support BC suggestion
Mark Svancarek (BC)
01:11:57
need to step away
Laureen Kapin (GAC)
01:12:01
For clarity, GAC opposes the deletion of the pinpointed legal advice because those excerpts support the guidance. We also support attaching the entire legal memo.
Mark Svancarek (BC)
01:13:28
I'm back, but may need to step away again. Contractors arrived hours early
Steve DelBianco (BC)
01:14:46
By asking “how useful”, are we expecting commenters to pick what they find useful from the legal advice provided?
Laureen Kapin (GAC)
01:15:21
Again, oppose the "how useful" question.
Chris Lewis-Evans (GAC)
01:15:35
+1 Hadia
Hadia Elminiawi (At-large)
01:17:16
How useful is a legal guidance should not be a question posed to the public to comment on.
Hadia Elminiawi (At-large)
01:17:58
So unless we are trying to evaluate Bird & Bird - we should not pose such a question to the public.
Mark Svancarek (BC)
01:18:54
lol Laureen
Steve DelBianco (BC)
01:25:13
This isn’t like SubPro or RPMs, where there are dozens of questions. We have a limited number of questions here, so a free form comment would be manageable
Berry Cobb
01:26:19
I'd also note, that post public comment, we will be on aggressive timeline for the P2A team to review the comments. So the form just does not benefit staff. Narratives complicate the group's review too.
Berry Cobb
01:26:34
does not just benefit staff.
Sarah Wyld (RrSG)
01:26:34
I like the specific questions with an open space at the end, I think that works well.
Laureen Kapin (GAC)
01:26:45
:-)
Sarah Wyld (RrSG)
01:26:48
Can't those who don't use Google Forms submit their input via email to Staff who can enter it into the form?
Steve DelBianco (BC)
01:26:50
Let’s accommodate formatted lists and bullets; footnotes and links.
Laureen Kapin (GAC)
01:27:46
Yes, a WORD template would be helpful.
Steve DelBianco (BC)
01:33:57
Can you still rhapsodize in a footnote?
Hadia Elminiawi (At-large)
01:34:21
I read it now
Hadia Elminiawi (At-large)
01:35:40
+1 Laureen
Sarah Wyld (RrSG)
01:35:47
I'm very happy to review proposed updates that pull quotes from those references
Berry Cobb
01:36:41
The full list is preferred. Thank you.
Sarah Wyld (RrSG)
01:38:23
The IPC can't accept the field being optional? Is that what I heard?
Sarah Wyld (RrSG)
01:38:33
(Want to be sure I understand)
Sarah Wyld (RrSG)
01:40:09
ah, okay
Sarah Wyld (RrSG)
01:41:19
Alan G cut out?
Terri Agnew
01:41:28
@Alan G, your audio cut out and you are back
Manju Chen (NCSG)
01:47:34
totally agree Keith
Mark Svancarek (BC)
01:47:49
Replace the text with what Keith just said
Volker Greimann (RrSG)
01:50:29
maybe we need another EPDP where webforms are in scope
Hadia Elminiawi (At-large)
01:50:46
@Volker in a broader sense webforms are in scope
Owen Smigelski (RrSG)
01:50:47
Agree with Volker- webforms are completely out of scope for EPDP Phase 2A. No need to include them in the report.
Volker Greimann (RrSG)
01:51:35
@hadia: the only way webforms are in scope for this group is if you break the scope and use the shards to look elsewhere
Owen Smigelski (RrSG)
01:51:44
The scope of Phase 2A was very narrow- 2 items. Anything outside of those specific questions are tangential and out of scope. We do not need to expand the scope to cover wishlists.

01:53:57
We will send invite for Thursday so it is in everyones calendar for now.
Laureen Kapin (GAC)
01:54:00
Here, here - kudos to staff for all their excellent work!
Brian King (IPC)
01:54:11
thanks all
Manju Chen (NCSG)
01:54:17
Staff are awesome! thanks!
Hadia Elminiawi (At-large)
01:54:20
Thank you all bye
