Hello Roelof. Everyone is good. My teenage daughter is frustrated by lack of interaction with her friends, and my 10-year old son could not be happier, no going to school and lots of video game, perfect live! How are you and your family doing?
Betty Fausta
01:11:37

Betty Fausta

hello Betty and Rose
Rose Ofianga
01:13:40
Hi Priyatosh!
Stephen Deerhake (ccNSO Council)
01:14:24
What is "Operating Initiatives Envelope"?
Priyatosh Jana
01:15:17
Rose,Hope you are doing well and everything is going fine during lockdown
Betty Fausta
01:15:20
hello. any Caribbean islands like me?
Xavier Calvez
01:16:03
@Stephen: this is an envelope of funds that we are setting aside in this 5-year plan to fund the work pertaining to the 15 Operating Initiatives that contribute to achieve the 5-year strategic plan.
Xavier Calvez
01:19:32
The expenses for the 15 Operating Initiatives will become more clear and refined during the annual planning of each year. At this point, it is high level estimates.
Stephen Deerhake (ccNSO Council)
01:20:34
Thank you Xavier for that clarification.
Betty Fausta
01:21:29
could we have some examples of contengency ?
Betty Fausta
01:21:53
more illustrated example I didn't really understand that point
Jeffrey Neuman
01:22:14
<Question> Now that we are in our 4th month of the Pandemic, what trends do you actually see with respect to revenue? There was a belief that there would be a moderate decrease in revenue during the Pandemic, but what have you actually seen? <End Question>
Xavier Calvez
01:24:33
@Betty: my wife is from Guyana if that counts, since it is the only Caribbean country that is not an island…!
Ricardo Holmquist
01:25:42
And its not even in the Caribbean!
Betty Fausta
01:25:44
yes Xavier Caribbean sea
Xavier Calvez
01:26:04
@Betty: an example of expenses that we allocate to the contingency could be for example legal defense costs for a lawsuit (as we do not of course plan otherwise for lawsuits).
Betty Fausta
01:27:40
Merci Becky. very clear
Marita Moll
01:27:57
Question: 12M budgeted for 3 public meetings in FY21 but 16M budgeted in FY22 for 3 public meetings. Discrepancy?
Xavier Calvez
01:29:13
@Ricardo: Guyana is actually technically part of the caribbean. It is English speaking, part of the Caricom and culturally very much a caribbean country.
Ricardo Holmquist
01:30:13
@Xavier, thanks, yes I know. I am from Venezuela, just at its side.
Cheryl Langdon-Orr
01:32:14
This prioritization work will be a new aspect for we in the ICANN Community to 'get used to' but it is indeed (as outlined in our recent ATRT3 Report) an absolute essential!
Jim Prendergast
01:33:23
essential is the perfect word
Judith Hellerstein
01:33:31
@marita, I believe this is also all travel so they had cancelled several of the summits they had sponsored and also were not allowing staff to attend events. at least that is what I had understood them to say at another webinar
Xavier Calvez
01:34:29
@Marita: we have seen your question and will address it soon.
Xavier Calvez
01:34:35
About ICANN meetings costs.
Marita Moll
01:35:39
@Xavier -- thank you. Just assuming that the public meetings are a huge chunk of that budget item
Betty Fausta
01:36:32
<question> with all cancellation I think the budget can be more generous with fellow to be more open and multi stakeholders designing
Stephen Deerhake (ccNSO Council)
01:36:57
Thank you all for your presentations.
Ricardo Holmquist
01:38:38
Question: Are you going to share the presentation? or it will only be the recording of this meeting? Thanks!
Cheryl Langdon-Orr
01:38:48
Indeed @Stephen, these briefings are always interesting and informative... quite valuable
Jim Prendergast
01:39:02
