The iana.org IP address changed from 192.0.32.8 to 192.0.47.8. To resolve the issue, IANA responded to use the IP range 192.0.32.0/20 for iana.org.
Sarah Wyld
32:01
Thanks for the update.
Alex Deacon
36:37
I’m clueless as to when (or even if) the draft policy language will go out for public comment. We are working without a schedule or fixed timeline.
Sarah Wyld
37:06
Indeed, receiving the agenda a few days before the meeting has been very helpful
Sarah Wyld
37:26
and I mean, there is a timeline for the IRT, it just says that the public comment period started in January 2020...
Roger Carney
37:49
Nice timeline :)
Alex Deacon
38:04
lol - only at ICANN....
Sarah Wyld
38:04
Thanks Marc, great update
Mark "marksv" Švančárek (Microsoft/BC)
38:11
not it
Sarah Wyld
38:17
yay marc! much appreciated
Alex Deacon
39:23
Staff and Janis seems to be assuming a “shrink to fit” schedule. Very concerning….
Roger Carney
39:38
More and more each day :)
Roger Carney
40:56
That was in reference to leaving things up to implementation
Sarah Wyld
41:43
great update marc
Sarah Wyld
41:46
nothing to add
Sarah Wyld
43:02
That is a big TBD, yup.
Roger Carney
43:22
Yes, a very big TBD
Jody Kolker
43:55
+1 Roger/Sarah.
Sarah Wyld
45:56
well there is a central gateway manager, so some sort of centralization. I don't think it's quite accurate to call it decentralized ? but yeah - so much yet to be determined
Alex Deacon
46:03
RDAP could be used, but its not clear it should be used.
Roger Carney
46:17
Thanks guys!
Justin Mack (MarkMonitor)
47:14
Would be a bummer if we all have to implement a completely new protocol for SSA/D
Sarah Wyld
47:26
that would seem impractical, eh
Alex Deacon
48:06
@justin - I assume we would use a commercial off the shelf service (salesforce, zen desk, etc…)
Alex Deacon
48:29
its a ticketing system….not much more.
Jody Kolker
48:54
Agree Justin - any new design or new implementation for SSAD is going to take additional development effort that seems like a waste.
Alex Deacon
49:40
@jody - there would be no dev effort to use a customer support style ticketing system.
Justin Mack (MarkMonitor)
50:19
For a manual ticketing system, any guesses to the data structure? Will we copy/paste raw JSON from RDAP? Keep port 43 WHOIS indefinitely for that structure? Copy/paste field-by-field for the data requested?
Jody Kolker
50:24
Thanks Alex, I take all registrys and registrars would be able to login to the ticketing system?
Karla Hakansson
50:39
No updates
Alex Deacon
51:04
well….this is my personal opinion. but yes. Just like any “distributed” CS team would be able to log in and have tickets assigned to them.
Jody Kolker
51:05
Registrars would need to set up users to either use the system or receive emails for the tickets and reply to the tickets?
Alex Deacon
51:14
CS = customer support
Sarah Wyld
51:19
Jody - presumably but no real idea
Sarah Wyld
51:22
It hasn't been that specific yet
Karla Hakansson
51:49
Want me to drop?
Edward Lewis (ICANN org)
52:27
I’m on the call too (but rather inert!)

Thanks for the link
Roger Carney
56:19
Don't worry Marksv, we "generally" don't consider MS to be a harvester :)
Mark "marksv" Švančárek (Microsoft/BC)
56:41
:)
Alex Deacon
57:41
its never clear to me what “bulk access” means….
Mark "marksv" Švančárek (Microsoft/BC)
57:48
Thank you for your consideration
Roger Carney
58:10
Agree Alex, a loaded term
James Galvin (Afilias)
58:16
@alex - yes, that is a question; what is bulk access.
Alex Deacon
58:33
yes - would need to be defined.
Mark "marksv" Švančárek (Microsoft/BC)
58:41
We debated the "bilk access" term yet again even today on EPDP
Mark "marksv" Švančárek (Microsoft/BC)
58:49
haha "bulk access"
Roger Carney
59:02
:)
Marc Anderson (Verisign / RySG)
59:03

Alex Deacon
59:05

Marc Anderson (Verisign / RySG)

Jody Kolker
59:13

Sarah Wyld
59:16

Sarah Wyld
59:19
well done indeed
Dan Wright
01:00:09

Sarah Wyld
