Ariel Liang

@Paul - As staff reported, 12 individuals provided comments to almost every single question in the google form, besides the comments from 38 organizations and 5 ICANN groups. All comments are organized in the comment review tool: https://community.icann.org/display/RARPMRIAGPWG/Phase+1+Initial+Report+Public+Comment+Review
Ariel Liang
49:01
Of course, alternative methods have also been provided for commenters to submit comments via the Word form equivalent of the Google Forms, and there was individual commenter who used that method to submit comments

Just jumping back to the last item before connection was lost: I appreciate the challenge of deadlines but I think it is worth mentioning that as a multistakeholder model greater emphasis should be placed on developing shared engagement and relying on expected norms rather than rules which you would find in a coercive top-down environment. We had the same issues in the IGO/INGO WG where it was impossible to get overarching issues discussed and time was consumed interminably by process shaping. Paul McGrady sets an excellent example in subgroup B of the RPM working group and I think we could all learn from his approach.
Manal Ismail
01:04:27
Many thanks Keith for noting, acknowledging and updating everyone on this ..
Keith Drazek (Verisign)
01:05:25
Thanks Manal!
Philip Corwin
01:06:13
Related to what Jeff just said, one of the questions posed in our Initial RPM Report was whether the URS should become a Consensus Policy for legacy gTLDs. Community feedback on that will be reviewed by the full WG.
Wolf-Ulrich Knoben
01:07:33
Thanks Rafik
Marie Pattullo

For community members who may not be familiar with the overall GNSO PDP lifecycle, it may be helpful to remember that once the policy development phase concludes in the GNSO, the approved policy recommendations are then sent on to the ICANN Board for its consideration. These steps are mandated in the ICANN Bylaws. If the Board votes to adopt the recommendations, the process then moves to the implementation phase (as Keith mentions). This last phase is managed by ICANN org at the specific direction of the Board, in consultation with a community-based Implementation Review Team (again as mentioned by Keith).
Keith Drazek (Verisign)
01:19:41
Thanks Mary

To be clear. The PCR is only for the SSAD Final Report which is part of the Priority 1 critical path.
John McElwaine
01:20:40
I don’t see three options in the EPDP PCR.
Syuzan Marukhyan
01:20:41
Thank you, Mary!
Michele Neylon (Blacknight)
01:20:58
John - it’s in the doc that Rafik shared
Marika Konings
01:21:05
@John - the options are in the priority 2 framework document that Rafik shared (not the PCR)
Michele Neylon (Blacknight)
01:21:25
but the extension + the “path forward” doc seem to be discussed at the same time which is causing confusion
John McElwaine
